Yes, I received the email, screenshot is attached.
There is no Image included.
I will keep send randomly new users trying to match a Media ID I find (or create).
I will feedback ASAP the findings.
Meanwhile, did you find value in the possible workaround, or is this a no go for you?
Beda,
I might be able to test this on my other website that has this issue. I am using a custom hook that redirects and auto logs a new user in, which I think is overriding the CRED redirect. I'll keep you posted.
Meanwhile, I might have an idea for you. You can let me know what you think.
My client was sending me a bunch of these emails every time a photo was attached. What if I looked at one of the emails, and deleted all of the users up to the user that had this issue? Do you think that it would bring us back to a spot where when you register your test user, it might get the same issue as the user I deleted up to? There is a plugin that I can install that allows me to sort users by their registration date, so I know I can delete linearly.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks!
I saw the target ID on CRED on this test site is 4303.
In the Database we have a post with this ID, of type "banner-menu-feature"
This seems a Post Type created with Types, and espclifically it's a post where also an Image field, or other media can be added.
There was none in this case, so I added an image to the only field where I could (bottom of post edit screen) and re-submitted the form.
I still got no Image in the Emails.
This is because the target URL parameter already increased by one.
So I made a further test.
I created a post with an ID of "the future" and made sure, the Target of CRED this time matches such a post.
I even used the same image as you had in your email which you forwarded.
I then proceeded submitting the form, until matching the actual Media ID and I replicated the issue, on your install.
I bet, I will be able to replicate this locally too:
1. An Image (Media) with an ID "xy"
2. A CRED user (and eventually also post) Form with an email notification of any kind
3. A success Message in the Form or any redirection (target parameter)
4. Match this target parameter with the ID "xy" of the media and you will get the media sent in the email.
I reopened the old bug.
Thank you Michael for your through help.
So, it sounds like you are on the right track! This sounds great. I will look for your next reply. Hopefully we can resolve this soon.
Thanks for your help!
Beda,
Is there an estimate of how long I might be waiting for a resolution? My client keeps asking.
I thought I would have received a hotfix or something.
Thanks!
I am bumping this support ticket, so it doesn't get removed. I am still waiting for an update.
Thanks!
This ticket is escalated to the second tier, it cannot be removed.
The developers are working on this issue and they are making progress, I will update here when I have more news.
I'm experiencing same problem.
Situation is very bad, because new user notification emails includes sometimes another users official document copy ...
All software is up to date and site is builded on Toolset Starter Child theme.
Only 2 plugins not developed by On the Go Systems are ManageWP and Sucuri Security.
I can unfortunately not provide more details than already outlined here:
https://toolset.com/errata/cred-attaching-media-emails-media-id-matches-_target-value-user-forms-success-messages/
This will get solved in the upcoming release, but it is not yet possible to hot-fix this with a patch.
The sole solution right now if you have sensitive data sent, is to disable those notifications.
I am very sorry about this, the fix for this problem involves a great deal of changes in our code.
I apologize, I neglected to notify you that is is solved in the Currently stable Toolset Forms - Former Toolset CRED plugin.
The erratum was updated, https://toolset.com/errata/cred-attaching-media-emails-media-id-matches-_target-value-user-forms-success-messages/, but I forgot to notify you here, my sincere apologies again.
