When on the front-end viewing a page I can quickly enter the front-end editor by clicking on the "Front-end Layouts Editor" button in the WP Admin bar.
However, in order to get to the Back-end Layouts Editor for this page I have to first click on "Front-end Layouts Editor" and only then am I shown a button linking to the Back-end Layouts Editor.
Can you make it so that the Back-end Layouts Editor button shows up right from the get-go? This reduces a click, which, as we know, doesn't seem like much but becomes quite the nuisance as the number of clicks increase as we repeat the same action over and over.
The developers recently had a discussion about modifying this in response to client feedback, but the decision was made to persist with it as-is for the moment.
The reason being that it was a major change in the UI compared to the prior version of Layouts and they want to give it a little time to bed down without changing it again.
I know that there is a push from some users to change the button to a menu, and I expect that in a few months this will be re-visited, and I will be sure to add your voice when the time comes.
