Thanks for Shane's support, I refer to his reply https://toolset.com/forums/topic/translate-the-form-message/, I want to have my custom translation file for the Toolset Form, I read this article and it recommends the translation file should be named as
{plugin-domain}-{locale}.po
{plugin-domain}-{locale}.mo
As an additional information you can skip the part “Setup Your Plugin To Use Translation Files“ from the article. As the step is already handled by the Toolset. Adding the translation files to the language folders would suffice.
Thanks for your reply. How can I check my current locale? I tried to save wp-cred-zh_TW.po and wp-cred-zh_TW.mo to /wp-content/languages/wp-cred or /wp-content/languages/plugins but doesn't work.
Yes I read this https://toolset.com/forums/topic/forms-messages-translation-not-working-as-expected/, I have the same question to the translation issue, my site has only one language, I don't want to have the WPML even I have the lifetime license. I don't know where the string the User Form and Post Form keep. Is it possible to have the custom .po file?
I have gone though the escalated ticket and related discussion in detail.
It is not possible to have a a custom .po file for the front end forms as it looks for translation files in the path wp-content/plugins/cred-frontend-editor/vendor/toolset/toolset-common/languages the language file should be in .mo format.
Alternatively you can use plugins like loco translate which can help you modify the existing translation of the the form fields and generate .mo files that can be used in the Toolset language path mentioned above.
I visit the folder wp-content/plugins/cred-frontend-editor/vendor/toolset/toolset-common/languages but can't find any .po file, how can I do the translation?
I use web inspector to check my site is currently selected the zh_TW as the default language, I find there is views-zh_TW.mo file but I don't think it is translated. The error message is still in English.
Please advise how I can do the translation without installing the WPML.
As far as i see it is not possible to add a translation using custom .po file for the wp-cred.
These are dynamic strings that are stored and retried from database.
I hope the form is created with Chinese as default site langauge in that case the form notification strings in the back end should by default display the available Chinese translations by the time the form creation is completed.
Please share a screenshot of the notification strings below the form, Does it display all the notification string in Chinese or English?
