[Resolved] Post Author filters not working

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Post Author filters not working

Solution:
In this special case we found that user has custom taxonomy added with the slug 'author', please note that author is a reserve word and you should not use reserve words as slug of taxonomy.

If you have such case, please disable the taxonomy or rename/chance the slug other than reserve word author.

I'm trying to filter the view by post author, tried every filter from Post Author. Nothing is working.

Please see attached images.

Hello,

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please check these:

1) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2017, and test again

2) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL and view URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

Thanks for the details, I can duplicate the same problem with your database dump file, have escalated this issue, will update this thread if there is anything news.

Luo is on vacation. This is Minesh here and I'll take care of this ticket and try to help you further. I hope this is OK.

Well - I tried to check with minimum installation (only Toolset plugins) active with my local test site and I do not able to reproduce the issue. The filter by author filter works just fine without any issues.

After that I tried to deactivate almost ALL third-party plugins on your test site but I do not able to deactivate the one and only "BP XProfile WordPress User Sync" plugin. Could you please try to deactivate it and check if post author filter started to work - If yes: it will be a compatibility issue between views and "BP XProfile WordPress User Sync" plugin.

Could you please first deactivate "BP XProfile WordPress User Sync" plugin and update me if it works.

#953487

Hello, deactivated it thru the cPanel. Still it is not working.

#953493

Tested it on our other websites, not working.

Well - I just see that you are using old PHP version PHP 5.5.38.

Could you please update PHP version to PHP 5.6.X or PHP 7.x.x and try to resolve your issue.

Even WordPress suggest to use PHP 7.2:
=> https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

#953502

Updated to PHP 7.2, still no results/not working.

#953511

Also updated one of our other websites to PHP 7.2 and tested it. Still not working.

This is really strange - looks like exception as I do not able to reproduce this issue on my local test install with minimum set of plugins (only Toolset plugins active).

This issue is reported to our next level support for further debug. Please hold on for further updates. I will get in touch with you as soon as I know more.

Well - I would like to have more information about this issue as this is crucial to have it.

=> Could you please tell us since when this issue happens - after update or since long time?
=> Could you please check that if this resolved with any other version of Types?

When you said:
Tested it on our other websites, not working.
==> Did you checked with another website or with same database on another platform?

==> Are you able to replicate on another install? If yes, please share duplicator package of that as well and also.
=> Additionally, are you able to reproduce this issue on clean install with only Toolset plugins installed?
