hi, after working 1 year on 1 project with Toolset (of course not constantly or exclusively) i'm not any much further than after the first week 🙁 Nobody can/want to help, no capable independants are anywhere for hire, and your own 'specialists' are also of no use (6 contacted, 1 answered that they can't answer - great)
So i'm here as a last resort for help, hope we can get it done quickly so i can use the results also in other projects afterwards. (oh and your instruction video's are also of almost no help, you can't even read what's being typed on the screen, while every detail is important - the quality is just too low)
I have 3 burning issues, here's the first one (since each one needs separate topic) :
trying to make a map with all markers from a custom post type shown, according the instructions, using a view. I get always the results 'no items found' and nothing more at all.
Please provide a private reply for me so that i can provide you with ftp and login and further instructions where to look. Can't make url public. BTW there's some minor adult content there, in case someone has a problem with that 🙂
Thanks very much for your help!
(i'm not a total newbee to Toolset, used it since in different sites but not as complex as this one)
Dear Flip,
For the problem:
I get always the results 'no items found' and nothing more at all.
We need to know two issues:
1) If there is any wrong settings in the view, I suggest you check this:
Edit the problem view, in section "Query Filter" remove those filters one by one, check which filter conduct the problem
2) if there is any compatibility problem in your website:
Please check these:
a) You are you are using the latest version of Types + Views plugins
b) deactivate other plugins and switch to wordpress default theme, and test again
If the problem still exists, please provide a database dump file of your website in below private detail box, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks
Dear Luo,
thanks for your help! It was indeed an issue with the query filter and now it's showing. Still need to improve it with filtering on the map and such, hope that'll work out.
Question: is it possible to give each category a different marker (i thought yes) - is there some documentation on that somewhere?
So let's get to issue 2, i'll make new topic now.
Thanks a lot!
There isn't such an document for it, but there is a similar thread:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/different-marker-image-in-a-single-map/
For your reference, if you need more assistance for it, please create new thread for it.
HI Luo,
i spent once more a couple of hours to figure this out, but it just doesn't work this way. Isn't this info outdated?
There is no such path to be found: 1) Dashboard-> Views-> Settings-> Compatibility
By using temporary samples, and having no documentation, it's only the topic starter who can see the real example you're referring to; a couple of weeks later those sample sites cease to exist and it's one big puzzle to get all the things together :/
Do i need to assign that content template 'marker image' to the post type archive or to the single pages with that CPT name, even when there is already assigned another template to that one? or 'don't assign...'?
It's so many questions, possibilities, without a concrete sample it's really wasting days trying all possible options.
Thanks for your help again!
Kind regards
The info isn't outdated, and it does not need to assign content template 'marker image' to the post type archive or to the single pages.
The sub website in discover-wp.com will be removed in one or two month, if you need assistance/example for it, please provide a test site(without other plugins or custom theme) with same problem, and fill below private detail box with login details, also point out the problem page URL and content template URL, I need a live website to test and debug.
ok, and what with, to start with:
There is no such path to be found: 1) Dashboard-> Views-> Settings-> Compatibility ?
It IS outdated info. I found this morning the correct path Dashboard - settings - frontend content
ps i know that subsites will be removed in some weeks, as i wrote. The point is that this system is very curious to say the least. Both the client and yourself have so much more time to invest to always recreate the same issue and solution over and over again, instead of just leaving a concrete working sample to show all clients so that they can solve themselves the problem in 1/10 of the time. Don't you agree?
Thanks Luo!
got it, finally!
Thanks Luo
