I tried to add more information to the previous ticket but it wouldn't let me because it was closed.
I typed out a long explanation about what I figured out and it disappeared again.
I'm sorry for the delay but I've been working on new projects and needed to figure out the best way to try Luo's suggestion without interrupting production.
So, I created a new staging site which is staging1.esassoc.com. I turned off all the plugins except for the suite of toolset plugins and lo and behold the sorting appears to work. I also added the date to the display to make it easier to confirm the sorting.
I'm going to turn on the other plugins one by one until it breaks again. I just don't know what the next step would be once I have pinpointed the problem plugin. I don't fully understand how a different plugin can make another plug return different sorting results.
I had a problem in the past with WPML conflicting with a plugin and the 2 support teams worked together to resolve it.
Can you help me with that final step? I'll get back to you today or tomorrow with the offending plugin.
Thanks, Jim
Hello,
I have tried the credentials you provided above, it is not valid, I get this error message:
This site can’t be reached The webpage at hidden link might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED
Please check it.
I have enabled the private message box again, please provide website credentials and FTP access in private message box.
Did you know which plugin/theme conducts the problem?
And it is not safe to share the credentials publicly, I have removed those credentials from your post.
I have tried the credentials again, but it is still not valid, I get these error:
ERROR: The password you entered for the email address noreply@toolset.com is incorrect
See screenshot error.JPG
Please check it, make sure it is valid, also provide the FPT access in below private message box, thanks
Hi, Luo.
I deleted the user account and re-added it.
I also tested the credentials and got in ok.
I've never been able to get the ftp to work for this particular site. In the admin area is a plugin called "WP File Manager" which is a workaround if you need to ftp to the server.
I can make another ticket if you prefer but I've never been able to get the import for the associations to work...
I'm off to bed.
Thanks, Jim
Thanks for the details, I can log into your website, have edit your post to remove the credentials, will update here if there is anything news,
Here are what I found in your website:
1) Dashboard-> Plugins-> Recently Active
Activate all plugins under it
2) Test it in front-end, I can see the results are order by date correctly:
hidden link
So there might be a cache problem in your website, can you test it again?
And there are lots of JS errors in above page, for example:
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
I suggest you check those two plugins:
- WP Speed of Light
- WP Speed of Light Addon
For the new question: I've never been able to get the import for the associations to work.
Please create a new ticket for it, also provide a downloadable URL for the associations setting file you are going to import, since we need to test it.
My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
