I have built a website (hidden link).
It's a membership website and users can register for an account via Toolset Forms (hidden link)
After registration users receive an email with password.
After updating to WP5.5 the email is not sent anymore, when i downgrade to 5.4.8 it is working again.
I have a copy on hidden link that is running 5.5.1
I disabled all plugins there and problem still occurs.
What to do?
Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm still running some tests around this on a couple of different WordPress installs and will share my findings, as soon as this testing completes.
Thank you for your patience.
regards,
Waqar
Thanks for your help and no need to rush. The live site is on a previous version of WP and not giving any errors.
Have a good day!
Marc
Hi Marc,
Thank you for waiting.
During testing on a couple of different servers, I couldn't reproduce this issue with the latest WordPress and Toolset plugins.
I've tested this with two separate email form notifications, one for the user and the other for the admin, and both were received as expected.
( example screenshot: hidden link )
I'll recommend testing this again with everything up-to-date, and please share a clone/snapshot of the website, if the issue still persists.

Hi Marc,
Thank you for sharing these details.
During testing on your website's clone, I was able to reproduce this issue, after I configured the already activated "WP Mail SMTP" plugin.
However, when I deactivated it and instead activated the "Post SMTP" plugin ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-smtp/ ), both email notifications were received.
( please note that I used the exact same SMTP account settings in both these plugins )
Can you please also replace the "WP Mail SMTP" with the "Post SMTP" plugin and confirm that the notifications are received?
regards,
Waqar
