I am trying to achieve 2 layouts which are different for parent taxonomy terms and child taxonomy terms.
For example : i am able to achieve a layout for a parent taxonomy term.
However, i need to get a different design for child taxonomy.
THis is how it is implemented : Access Equipment(parent)
----Cherry Pickers
-----Scissor Lifts
Check these screenshots:
This is what i got for Access Equipment : hidden link
But child taxonomy called cherry pickers , i need different design for this. But it is picking up parent taxonomy design.
Check this screenshot: hidden link (This is different design i need for child taxonomy)
Unfortunately this is not possible because if tho they are Parent and Child term they are the same taxonomy so if you Create a Layout A for taxonomy A then taxonomy A will always display with Layout A regardless of being a parent or child.
Its a similar scenario when building archive templates for CPTs.
Unfortunately no as any workaround to this issue would require some amount of custom code to achieve which would essentially be out of the scope of the support forum.
