I did some changes to my content templates, and suddenly the new or changed templates had their names all changed to ”toolset_use_theme_setting”. Very confusing!
What should I do, how to get the names back?

I think we'll need a copy of your site to be able to see what's going on, this isn't something that we've seen before.

Could you please create a copy, as described in this link, and share it here. You can use Duplicator or All in One WP Migration may be easier, just be sure to exclude your uploads directory to keep the file size down.

Hi Valter,

Thank you for the copy, however we were able to replicate the issue.

It seems to be occuring with the latest version of the Kadence theme, version 1.0.12

What you can do is to roll back to the previous version by downloading it from the link below.

Hi Valter,

Thank you for the patience. I've received information on this and it has been resolved in the latest version of the Kadence theme.

Thanks for info!
I have a couple of questions remaining though.

1. The content template I use for most posts is still renamed to ”toolset_use_theme_setting” (same as a few other templates) which makes it a little difficult to distinguish. Is there a way to change the name to something better?

2. I guess I could duplicate it and give the copy a real name. But if set this copy to be used on posts, I do not want it to override settings for the posts that actually use some other content template. How to handle this?

Thanks in advance for advice!

Yes there is, when you go to edit your content template, on the right hand side there will be a Content Template tab. Under General you should see "Name" this is where you can rename your content template. See Screenshot

My screenshot was taken from a test after i've updated the Kadence theme to version 1.0.14

There will be no need to duplicate the template as renaming the template from "toolset_use_theme_setting" works in my testing on version 1.0.14 so doing the same should work on your end.

If you are experiencing any difficulties please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane
