We are looking to create a VIP / membership type of system where members are granted discounts on selected products similar to the functionality of https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

You shared very little information about what you want. The plugin WooCommerce Membership offers discount feature but Toolset do not have such native feature, you may require to build it using Toolset.

We offer a course about ow you can build membership site using Toolset:
=> https://toolset.com/course/wordpress-membership-sites/
But there is no such feature about the discount.

I suggest, you should use our free test platform http://www.discover-wp.com and install one of our available reference site which best suits your requirement: https://discover-wp.com/site-templates/

And then paly with the reference site and check if you could able to build the discount feature as you require using Toolset.

Apologies, I thought my example and description was particularly explicit and therefore didn't require more information.

When using the WooCommerce Memberships plugin you are able to create Membership groups. Logged-in users in the these groups see the same products on the front end as everyone else but with a discount allocated. The percentage discount differs depending what group you are in. Membership group A gets 10% discount, Membership group B gets 20% and so on...

My question is whether a since result is achievable using only the Toolset plugins, particularly Access?

My understanding of your response is that this can't be achieved with only Toolset plugins.

There is no such native feature available to link user access groups and then automatically assign product discounts based on that.

Using Access plugin you can control the Post types (native+custom), Taxonomies (native+custom), Types Custom Field group, Toolset forms, WPML permissions and Post Groups. Having said that, our Access plugin can be used to restrict access to the content, but for linked user discounts, to link such product/discount it may require complex customizations.

To achieve this such feature using Toolset you can achieve most of the things but at the same time it may require custom programming and you should be having in-depth knowledge of PHP/Javascript/Wordpress to achieve such custom functionality.
