[Resolved] Map no longer appears

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: Map does not appear

Solution: Update to the latest versions of Toolset plugins.

This support ticket is created 4 years, 1 month ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Just updated my site to WP 5.6 and now the toolset map no longer appears

Hi, Shane is unavailable this week so I'm checking on his outstanding tickets. I hope that's okay with you.

During testing, I noticed that the issue seems to have something to do with the map block option
"Render the map immediately and then add visitor location". When that option is selected, the map never appears and I'm never prompted to allow access to my location in the browser. However, if I select the option "Wait until visitors share their location and only then render the map", the map will appear once I have allowed location access in the browser. I have selected that block option now as a temporary workaround, but I don't think it should be necessary. Either there is a bug, or something else is going on I don't quite understand. I'm still investigating this and will give you an update when I have more information to share.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for working on this ticket and for finding the workaround! The map was previously working with the "render map immediately" setting" and we did not make any changes to this site other than to update the version of WordPress. Given that, I think it may be a bug. This is the site we decided to test the WP update on - wondering what the results might be. I appreciate you continuing to look into it.

It seems that there have been a couple of other reports of maps sporadically not appearing upon page load. Our second tier team is investigating, and I'm linking this ticket with our internal investigation. I'll keep you posted as I receive more information.

Our developers are working on a hotfix for this issue and hope to have it ready to release very soon. I'll let you know when that becomes available.

We are in the process of pushing this hotfix release now. If you are not prompted to update automatically in wp-admin yet, you can go to wp-admin > Plugins > Add New, click the Commercial tab, and then click "Check for updates" in the Toolset installer area. Let me know if the latest round of updates do not resolve the issue, and I can take a closer look.
