Hello,
I'm looking for advice on how best to manage the propagation of views, content templates and post type changes between development and production websites. I've looked at the Distributor plugin by 10up but they only handle page and post syndication.

Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

There are a number of backup/restore and migration plugins available that can be used for this purpose.

Officially we use and recommend the following two plugins to migrate or clone websites safely:

1. Duplicator – WordPress Migration Plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

2. All-in-One WP Migration
https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/

Here is an article that reviews some of the popular options:

I hope this helps.
