Minesh, Can you help I have run across a problem today which has only just started happening. I have had a data entry person adding my listings all week from our previous database via the Cred form found on: hidden link

Today however I recieved an email for an actual client who tried to upload a business listing and couldnt. She said it was not submitting.

I have since been trying to find out the problem I have tried to add a listing myself via the form to trouble shoot what is wrong and I have also found that it is no longer working. The error is to do with the logo upload (see attached)

The data entry person also can no longer add entries and is having the same problem

I have touched nothing on the CRED form since it was working fine before and suddenly now not working.

Please help me trouble shoot this issue

Thank you

Holly

Hi Holly

I just tested uploading images to a CRED form (including where the filename includes spaces) and it was working as expected.

To isolate the problem on your site are you able to do a conflict-test?

Switch to a standard theme such as twentyseventeen and re-test.

If that doesn't help disable the non-Toolset plugins and re-test. If it then works you can identify which plugin is conflicting by re-activating them one-by-one or in batches and re-testing each time.

If none of that reveals anything let me know, I may need to get a copy of your site, but I'll wait to hear from you first.

Hi Nigel,

Did you read the error I am getting it is looking for a URL for the logo upload. Did you actually try my CRED form? I have tried from may computers and devices and it is asking for a URL where as clients will be uploading from their computers not from a URL. The error is on the attachment. How do you do a conflict test? Thank you Holly

"Did you read the error I am getting it is looking for a URL for the logo upload."

Yes.

"Did you actually try my CRED form?"

No. I trust that the screenshot you provided is for this issue and not for something unrelated.

I assume "Logo Upload" is an image field. Is it something else?

If it is an image field then that is what I tried on my local test site and found to be working.

If it is not working on your site then the first thing to do is to eliminate what is different, which means switching the theme to twentyseventeen and disabling the non-Toolset plugins. If you find that the form then works then that means there is a conflict between Toolset and your theme or one of your plugins. If the form still doesn't work then there may be something else particular to your site that means it's not working, and for that I would want access to your site and possibly to take a copy of it for further testing, but I will only do that once we have established whether there is a conflict or not.

Dear Nigel, I don't think its a conflict - Until today it was working fine on my site!

Yes "Logo Upload" is an image field.

Your local test site has noting to do with my site? I am asking why it is not working on my site.

I have a huge website and don't feel it is appropriate or necessary to check it on another theme when it has worked perfectly well in the past on BB pro child theme.

Can you pass the onto Minesh because he has been helping me from the beginning with this form and I am sure he will be the best one to understand the issue.

Thanks

Holly

Hi Holly

Yes, of course, I can pass this to Minesh, I'll do that now.

If you want to save time you can go ahead and perform the above checks, because Minesh will want you to do the same.

If it was working fine and then stopped working then logically something has changed. Either you (or someone with access to your site) has changed something, or an update to the theme or a plugin has changed some code and that has given rise to the problem.

You don't seem to think you have changed anything, hence a no-conflict test is needed to rule out a problem occurring from a change to the theme or a plugin.

Naturally, if your site is live you will want to do this on your staging site. If you don't have one then we can set up a test site for you if you provide a copy of your site: https://toolset.com/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

I'll pass this over to Minesh and he can set up a private reply if needed to get a copy of your site.

Could you please send me problem URL?

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. If you agree to this, please use the form fields I have enabled below to provide temporary access details (wp-admin and FTP).

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

Hi Minesh, Please not that the site URL I sent you is my staging site. should start with "staging" ie: staging.enfantsdazur.com. I was initially having issues with it looking for the SSL certificate because the staging site doesnt have one. Please let me know if there are any issues Best, Holly

Thank you for sharing access details but with the access details you shared I do not able to see Toolset menu in admin.

Could you please share admin access to wp-admin user so that I can have full access and I can check further whats going wrong there.

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

I'm bit confuse here - where I should check logo issue - on your staging site or on your production site for which you shared the access details with your last reply.

#627069

Dear Minesh,

The staging site does not work. I have used duplicator and sent you both files as per the instructions. How do you go about using that copy of my site. I am totally confused too! I have also sent you admin and fpt access to my live site because that is all I have working right now. Kind regards, Holly

#627070

I have backed up the site as of yesterday and i know how to revert to that version should anything happen. Please advise. Regards, Holly

Sorry - where you send me duplicator copy of your site? I'm bit lost and could not see it. Could you point me where I can find duplicator copy of your site - however - I will check first on your staging site why its not working and if I will not be able to fix it - I need duplicator copy.

Would you mind to share duplicator copy again.
