Tell us what you are trying to do?
We've just bought Toolset about 3 hours ago - looks brilliant ...BUT SO MUCH TO READ, haha!! OK, so what we are trying to do is limit an outsourcers access in the admin area so that they can ONLY have ability to create and edit new product pages.
....I've uploaded the access plugin ....but can find nowhere to make a new user role within our admin area - in fact, I can't find anywhere to access the access plugin - the only reference to it - and way I can see it IS installed - is in the plugins page 😉
help please!! 🙂
Is there any documentation that you are following?
I've found a page of tuts that seems to look good ...but as said, so far can't find anywhere to make a new user role.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
What is the link to your site?
UPDATE: I have now found the Toolset link in our admin area - at last! I took a meal break and when I came back saw one of your screenshots which showed the position and sure enough it was there ...sorry about that.
I have made user roles and gone through the settings but when I try and login as that User, it just takes me to the same login as when our customers make an account. It doesn't take me into an admin area.
It depends on the user Role.
Usually, all Users on WordPress have Backend access, some more, some less.
WooCoomerce roles are an exception, they hardcoded a redirect to the front end.
Whenever you set a new Role in Toolset Access, and create a user with that role, logging in as that user will - if you called it previously - direct to the WP Admin.
Of course, if you called any other page but were required to Log In, then you will be redirected to the intended location.
Please elaborate what you mean by "it just takes me to the same login as when our customers make an account"
Toolset Access does not create new Log In areas or methods.
It just allows you to control who can do what and where.
I am not sure about the exact goal you have, but from "ONLY have ability to create and edit new product pages.", I think you want a role that cannot do anything but add products or edit.
That is not possible, at least, those users will have access to their Backend Profile Edit Screen at least.
For the rest, just set up the role (you can copy from Author for example) and then remove all access to all content but the Products of WooCommerce.
That should work just fine, although if it gets tricky we as well have a dedicated DOC about WooCommerce Roles and Access
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/custom-woocommerce-roles-admin-capabilities/
This should not affect the login process.
Many thanks - your tip about using the Author, while only allowing Access to manage woocommerce got me the desired result 🙂
