This is related to this support post: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/undefined-post-type-archives-error-message/

In particular, I have at one layout that is only assigned to a taxonomy that no longer exists, and honestly I can't even remember what the taxonomy was. But, because it's "assigned" I can't delete the layout at all.

I'd at least like a way to delete that layout, but even better would be the ability to unassign a layout from an undefined post type.

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us.

Your observation is correct and currently, it is not possible to delete any layout which was assigned to a deleted custom post type or taxonomy.

I'm going to pass on this ticket to the concerned team, as a feature request.

Appreciate you brought this forward and please open a new ticket for a different question/concern.

regards,
Waqar

I can unassign removed content types just fine, in Toolset Layouts.

I attached a screenshot, are you sure to use the latest Toolset?

If yes, and you can still not see what I see, please feedback here and attach a copy of a Duplicate of your site https://toolset.com/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/, or, if you have some steps to replicate that, I can try according to them.

Hi Beda,

The issue is with layouts assigned to an archive, and not a post type. Screen shots attached. In the change layout usage dialog, there isn't a way to uncheck a deleted assigned archive, both taxonomy and post type archives. Unlike with the layouts assigned to all the posts of a CPT, the dialog doesn't list the deleted archives.

I am still on Layouts 2.4.2 for the moment since I haven't had time to test all the plugin updates that came out in advance of 5.0, but I'm only a month behind.

To duplicate the issue, try this: create a custom taxonomy, create a wordpress archive layout, assign it to that taxonomy, and then delete the taxonomy.

Right, I am sorry.

It works for the Layouts assigned to the single Type, and on single posts.
Not on their archives.
This is a bug, and I reported it.

Thanks for the patience and heads up.

There is an erratum now for this issue:
https://toolset.com/errata/layouts-cannot-be-unassigned-from-archives-if-the-related-post-types-are-deleted/

Please let me know if you require the help in editing the database as mentioned on the Erratum.

Dear support team, I have the same kind of issue.

I cannot delete the layout, because it is assigned to the page that was deleted.
