[Resolved] Using Toolset Starter Theme and Layouts, I see a white page on the front end

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
When I activate toolset Layouts and the Starter Theme I see a White Page on my front end.
What is the cause?

Solution:
It is becuase you have not yet set a layout for that Page.
Head to your Toolset > Layouts and create a Layout, then assign it to the Page(s) in question.
This will solve the problem.

I am trying to: Activate the layout plugin

I visited this URL: It's local ubuntu 16.04 image.

I expected to see: The theme load correctly

Instead, I got: A white page with the admin tool bar.

The page loads but there is no body content. Looking at source I can see all headers and scripts load correctly but no html for the header, menu etc..

If I go into the layout manager I can actually create layout that will display but none of the theme code is loading. Debugging is enabled but no error message is being generated.

I am using the starter child theme. I only just bought this plugin so i am not really familiar with it but I am fairly sure this is not meant to happen. If I activate another theme then the theme code displays and I get a warning message about not integrating.

I'd like to get started, why isn't this plugin working?

edit: ive just seen that I then assign this template to all pages. I take it this is the plugins normal behaviour then? when active it stops any theme template loading and all goes via layout?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Could you please activate WP_DEBUG from wp-config.php file and send me possible errors for review.

In my original post I said that it is enabled and no error is being generated

Since Minesh currently has a few days off, I will replace him here in the forum.
I hope this is OK for you.

Let us go over the issues one by one and solve it ASAP.

1. Activate the layout plugin

Great. You have the Plugin active in Dashboard > Plugins.
You have the Toolset Starter Theme which is natively supporting Layouts.

2. Instead I got: A white page with the admin tool bar.

Most probably, you did not yet assign a layout to this page.

You can do this as follows:

- Createa Layout and insert some Cells, to actually display something on your Page.
- Head to your Page edit screen and assign the Layout you just created in the Right handed MetaBox (where all the layouts will appear in a sidebar dropdown)
- OR, you can head to your Layout and open "Change how this layout is used"
There you can assign the Layout to a single Post, Page or item, or to a entire Type of Posts or Archives.
- Then, the front end will display exactly what you inserted to the Layout.

3. If this for some reason is not working, please follow as below:

- Delete the Toolset Plugins from your Plugins folder
- Delete the Starter Theme and it's child Theme from the Theme's folder
- Re-Download and install the Plugins and the Theme and repeat above steps.

4. If this still does not solve the problem, I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site
- preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible -
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would, if possible, need access to a site where only a minimal set of Plugins and a default theme is active.
This to avoid eventual compatibility issues with other software.

✙ I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site.
This is also a reason the backup is really important

I will then create a Dummy Layout for your reference.
