[Resolved] Layout Plugin incompatibility with Modern Events Calendar Plugin

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to create a taxonomy archive page for categories created for Modern Events Calendar posts. I copied the taxonomy-mec-category.php file into my child theme, but it seems that Layouts overrides this file.

Solution: Create a Layout and assign it to the Modern Events Calendar taxonomy archive. Create a WordPress Archive cell and insert it into the Layout. The design provided by Modern Events Calendar will be displayed.

Hi!
you are a fantastic support team and the most prepared and organized that I have known in terms of assistance tools on the web! you are helping me so much in my project and I will soon do a review to thank you!.

So..
I discovered a serious mistake not just between the layout plugin and the plugin that I use to manage my events. I think it is solvable in a short time but I can not understand how.
With the Modern Event plugin (premium plugin) I created my events but I have an error in the front-end display.
They are shown as if they were simple posts on my blog, both the single event and the category archive.

I solved half the problem but a big problem remains. A problem With Layout actived.

in my tests the problem occurs ONLY with the Layout Plugin active. If you disable Layout everything works correctly. But my cpt templates do not work anymore!

with the layout plugin active my events (created with Modern Event) are displayed as posts.
And also the archive of it.

It's as if the layout plugin interfered in the layout of my events. In the Layout settings I have not set which layout should handle my events. I have created layouts only to display my toolset cpt. Not my events with Modern Event!

In the root of plugin i have 3 skins of event cpt:
- "archive-mec-events"
- "taxonomy-mec-category.php"
- "single-mec-events.php"

I did several tests, I disabled the theme, I returned to the theme 27, I disabled all my plugins one at a time and I discovered one thing: with the 3 files of the Modern Event plugin in the root of my diver-child I can run the display of individual events and the archive of all events! I can not make the event categories archive yet.
It's as if layout headed the display of my events forcibly. Layout wants to show the categories archive of my events equal to the category archive of the posts! How is this possible? Also with the taxonomy file in the root of my divi-child. Layout dominates. uff ..
Can you help me please?
I beg you...

I'm not familiar with the Modern Events plugin. Since it's a paid plugin, I need you to provide a copy of the plugin I can use for testing. Please use the private reply fields here to post a link where I can download the files, and I will take a look.

I have add also "taxonomy-mec-category.php" in root of my divi-child but this don't work.
I am able to show the archives here with Layouts active:
/categoria-eventi/mostre/
- To get the archives to appear, create a new Layout and assign it to the taxonomy Categorie.
- Insert a WordPress Archive cell. Leave the default settings and content for this cell.
- Now the MEC archives appear as expected.

So this is why the taxonomy-mec-category.php file did not appear to be working as expected. In order to see that template, a Layout must be assigned to the taxonomy, and a WordPress Archive cell must be applied to the Layout.

thank you so much Christian! You solved my problem! I'm really grateful.
I'm starting to understand more and more the mentality of toolset and layout plugin: they are really advanced tools with great potential! Like you! Thank you thank you
