One of my layouts has broken. When I go to it in the dashboard I can see the bottom of the page where it shows usage is not loading, the page just cuts off after the rows.

If I try to edit the columns I get weird javascript error where a dotted box shows up and then everything just freezes.

When I click save it just says "saving" indefinitely and doesn't save.

I used the duplicate layout feature and the duplicate layout also has the same issue.

This layout is being used for all posts but also for specific pages using it as a content template where it has been selected manually from content template drop down.

I could delete it, re-create it, then go through all pages and re-select template but I would really like to understand what has broken and why as this has happened to me before and it is worrying me that I am having to periodically delete layouts because they stop working.

I can provide the layout export if that is helpful.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Layouts export will not work here I think I need to check on your server but before I take a look on your install.

1)
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?

2)
Could you please activate WP_DEBUG from wp-config.php file and send me possible errors for review.

3)
Do you see anything on server log:

There are no javascript errors in console and wp-debug was already enabled and no errors or notices generated.

Site is my clients live site so I am unable to provide you direct access to it. (it is running on wpengine so not sure if maybe something their end causing issues)

The site is pretty large so if you want a copy of it then its database alone is a few hundred mb.

I need to edit this layout. Can you suggest what I can do to make it work? I checked another layout and it works fine, it is just this layout that is the issue.

Is only way to delete it and start again? Why does this keep happening?

Well - I can't tell you without investigating on your install what's happening as to guide you without checking the issue will be not helpful to you.

Yes - what if you can try to recreate the Layout and check if that helps considering that layout may be corrupted?

If recreating Layout does not help:
1)
Which Layout I need to check with?

2)
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. If you agree to this, please use the form fields I have enabled below to provide temporary access details (wp-admin and FTP).

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
