Just need to know if I have to have toolset blocks

This support ticket is created 4 years, 6 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi, I'm speeding up my site and removing any unneeded plugins, I am only using Toolset for custom post types. The documentation says every site must have types and blocks installed, do I have to have blocks installed? I will use the custom post types with Elementor layouts, as blocks is super confusing for me to use.

It doesn't look like from the description of Blocks I will use it for anything, just don't want to break the site by removing it if it's needed.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well, if you are not using any views, content templates, or archive templates, I would say that it is fine to deactivate it. Note, that the Toolset View module in Elementor will not be available anymore if you deactivate Toolset Blocks.

I'll suggest that you deactivate it, first, in a staging site. Review your website to see if nothing breaks, then implement the same on the live site.
