On a product detail page ... depending on the number of color variations, they can be displayed in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 columns using the grid view template. This value (1 thru 6) is chosen at product load time using a custom field.

Is there a way that I can pass the number of display columns into the view block so I don't have to have 6 different versions in conditional tags?

Hello and thank you for contacting Toolset support.

Currently, that's not possible. The only workaround is to have different views wrapped in conditionals.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
