importing csv file for custom field data

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to import their custom fields from a CSV file.

I have created a custom post type with several custom fields.
I have a csv file with 200 records with those fields.
I want to import that csv file so that each record becomes a post with the custom field data

I believe I can do this with the WP Ultimate CSV Importer plugin, but it appears I need to paid version to import custom field data. Correct?

Is there another option?

Can the data be directly imported into MySQL?

That is correct you will need to the paid version of the WP Ultimate CSV plugin in order to import the data into the Types custom fields.

You can use the WP CSV Import plugin to import the basic field but the link above will show what fields that aren't able to be imported using this plugin.

Thanks for the answer. However, I wish there was built-in way to import CSV into custom fields without having to buy a $150 program for what amounts to a single use.
