hey,
how do i seperate instances from each other using wp all import? i have instances which contain a comma within them, so i tried using | for seperation, but that didn't work and imported just 1 instance including all the |s in it...
thanks!

Hi,

The multiple instance field stores value like this
Post A
- Field 1, value 123
- Field 1, value 456
...
So you can import data to the same post, same field "Field 1" multiple times, each time with different value.

hey luo! thx.
but what if i have a comma within a single instance? for example, i want to import the instances "research" and "writing, publishing and editing" the comma within the 2nd instance would break it.
isn't there a way to determine the seperator like there is in taxonomies and relationship and set it to be something else other than a comma?

That is a question for "wp all import" plugin, I suggest you check if it is possible with "wp all import" plugin support:

I am specifically referring to the wp all import toolset add-on, which you guys published and wrote documentation on...

I assume we are talking about this add-on:

As you can see, it is produced by wpallimport.com.

I have searched it in google, and found this document:

For your reference.

thx man.
i was reffering here:

https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/how-to-import-data-from-a-csv-file-using-the-wp-all-import-toolset-types-add-on-plugin/

your links are to the acf documentation, not the toolset ones. since i saw you documented your addon, i thought you might have an answer here.

Please click the link of "WP All Import – Toolset Types Add-On" in the document you mentioned above, it is linked to:

As I mentioned above, the "WP All Import – Toolset Types Add-On" is produced by them, see screenshot of above document:

I am not sure if it can " determine the seperator " for multiple instance field, you might check it with their support.

ok - i think it's not possible in custom fields, and is possible with taxonomies and relationship. i have a fair amount of experience with wp all import - i think it would be great to add this feature to custom fields as well.
thanks!
