Good day
Under Toolset -> Settings there is the option to "Add resized images to the media library". We are trying to use this option with featured images in order to create only the thumbnail sizes our design calls for, rather than have WordPress create lots of different sized versions which mostly aren't used.
Having ticked the option, one expected a new image to automatically add the resized images as attachments to the media library, as the description states. The "allow resizing of remote images" option is also ticked.
However, upon creating a view that calls the featured image and experimenting with various sizes, it changes the image size on the front-end as expected, and even names the image file with the chosen dimensions (eg: sky-670x670), but no new images are being generated in the media library, and confusingly, no image files are appearing when viewing the website's Uploads folder in FTP.
Please advise if I have misunderstood the function of this setting, or if I am meant to be seeing new versions of the featured image appearing in the media library as expected?

So the resized image file exists, because you can see it visually and see the filename. It's just a question of where it exists. You should be able to right-click the image and determine the full URL from the front-end. It may not exist in this month and year if the image was originally uploaded last year. The resized image will exist in the same directory structure as the original.
If that doesn't explain things, please tell me where I can see the View on your site, and I'll take a closer look.
My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
