[Resolved] I’m getting a “Conditional Display” message when saving pages with custom fields

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: Whenever I edit a Page I see the same warning message: "Conditions for displaying some custom fields on this page have changed". Even if I dismiss the warning and update the post, the warning returns next time I try to edit the Page.

Solution: Activate a default theme and deactivate all plugins except Types. Edit all the custom field groups associated with Pages. Twirl open each custom field and leave the panel open, then save the field group. Reactivate the theme and other plugins.

Hi,

I'm getting the following message when saving pages with custom fields – "Conditions for displaying some custom fields on this page have changed".

I think I know where this is coming from. I imported some custom fields from a previous site and with them, I imported a 'select' field (banner-type) that depending on the selection you made, controls the appearance of other fields in the group. I deleted this field and also got rid of all the conditions in the other fields. I then deleted it from Post Field Control.

I'm still getting the same message though.

Please help.

Hi, I'm not sure about this message. I would like to try to present a copy of your site to my 2nd tier support team. Is it okay for me to install the Duplicator plugin and create a site clone?

Yes, please go ahead.

In my local copy, I edited all the Post Field Groups and resaved each group. Now when I edit Pages, I no longer see the warning message. Can you try the same steps in the live site and let me know if the problem is not resolved?

Hi Christian,

I had already tried that, but since you asked, I did it again. Still getting the same warning though.

Not sure what the problem is.

Okay I tried again locally and remembered some steps that I did not think were important:
- I activated a default theme first
- I twirled open every custom field panel
- I saved each custom field group
- Then I reactivated the custom theme

I tried the same steps on your site, and now I don't see the warning message anymore. Can you confirm? I just edited this Page: hidden link

Thanks Christian. Problem solved.

Quick update to note that the latest version of Types includes a permanent fix for this problem.
