can this issue i also have , be wpml that messes up the content templates and when duplicate an content template and editing the settings is changed on BOTH templates ?
I had already spoken to Minesh earlier, and we were both unable to reproduce where a duplicate of a template containing a View "contaminates" the source template when making changes to the duplicate, but the video you shared shows more specifically how it can occur and I have been able to reproduce that. Specifically, changing the output format on the duplicate changes that of the original template (though not completely).
I need to get a clear answer from the developers about what is intended, whether the duplicate should then be independent or whether it should be a clone.
I've asked but haven't gotten an answer yet, I'll ask in person in the developer meeting in the morning.
I don't think that it is related to the question of this thread about the styles being lost on the front end. That seems to be related to the existing internal ticket. Unfortunately the developer responsible is off for a few days and I'm waiting for confirmation from them that the fix they intend for that existing issue will cover the specifics of your use case. It's on the board for the current development cycle, so should get fixed in the next release of Views & Blocks, but I need confirmation.
I'll liaise with Minesh, and we can handle the issue about the duplicate affecting the original in that thread.

IMO i think that when cloning/duplicating a post there should -not- be any independence on any other posts.
Then it would have to be called "mirror post" 🙂
I've been discussing with the developer, who was unable to reproduce the problem. I'm sure I was at the time, but on a clean test site trying again now with the steps I had identified before I no longer can.
I was going to get an updated copy of your site to test locally again (I don't keep copies of client sites) but the credentials no longer work.
The only significant change I can see since then has been an update in WP itself (I'm testing on the current version).
Could you re-test on your site (make sure you have WP and plugins up-to-date)?
If you still see the problem, please provide updated credentials and I'll take a copy. I've set a private reply in case you need to do that.
do see that the issue is still on my setup. backgrounds disapare in sections (WP bakery) wwhen i connect a swedish post to an english.
what i can see in difference between pages that do have this issue and thouse that not have this issus is on the WPML Multilanguage Content section an i click "show system fields"
the post of : _views_template is set to "copy" and i cant remove or change this. ist grayed out.
Post that are duplicated or translatet that NOT have _view_template, do not have this issue that backgrounds and CSS is messed up.
