Tell us what you are trying to do?
I'm trying to sort the custom field inputs in the same order it is in the view mode. It allows me to sort in each custom post, but not on the template. Is there anything I can do to sort it?

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hello,

I assume we are talking about Toolset Content Template, you are using Blocks editor to design the content template, and going to arrange blocks in that content template.

If it is, please follow WP document to move each block to where you want:

Not exactly. I'm talking about the custom fields after they are created. They are sorted in a different order on the backend (when creating a new record) than on the page view. Is there a way I can fix the order in the backend to look like the page view?

Thanks for the details, this is a known issue of WordPress core, see below ticket:
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52818#ticket

You will need to wait for WordPress Core team to fix this issue, it might be next version of WordPress 5.7.2
