This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

This is the error I am getting when I place the edit form in a page and try to access it from the front end: Form type and post type do not match.

Solution:

You can follow our document to setup the Toolset form for editing post, and put it into a content template, then display a edit form link in single post.

This is the error I am getting when I place the edit form in a page and try to access it from the front end.

Form type and post type do not match

I can not figure out how they do not match. I am pretty sure I had them working earlier.

Hello,

I have tried the URL you mentioned above, but did not see any Toolset form in it.

You can follow our document to setup the Toolset form for editing post, and put it into a content template, then display a edit form link in single post, see document:
Building Forms for Editing Content and Users
https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/publish-content-from-the-front-end/forms-for-editing/

Yes I have tried multiple times and I can't even get a link for editing to go into a post much less the shortcode for the editing form to show up on a single page.
Please help!

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please try these:

1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2019, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code snippets, and test again

3) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL and form URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks
