I can create the search fields easy enough that work (here: hidden link) however I want to style them side by side.
I can follow the video easy enough but I cannot highlight the blocks to drag them into the three column format. Am I missing something? All I get is a blue line around the selected block and I cannot drag it. (see attached image)
Do I need to do something to it to make it dragable into one of the three boxes below?
Hello Chris and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
The video is a new one and is still relevant. Just select the search field block from the block navigation then you can drag/drop it from the left control. Check this screenshot hidden link
If this does not help, there is probably something that is interfering with the block editor, check if this issue appears when:
- Only Toolset plugins are activated. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with another plugin.
- The theme is set to a WordPress default like Twenty Fourteen. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with your theme.
If the problem disappears, start activating one at the time to track where the incompatibility is produced.
Make sure to purge all caches, and ask you hosting provider to purge any server-level cache(Varnish, Memcache, etc.)
If this does not help, we'll need to take a copy of your website for debugging, let us know if that's ok with you.
Thank you for getting back to me over the weekend - it is much appreciated.
The image that you sent is exactly what I was expecting (and it used to work like that) however in the past week or so it has stopped working.
I deactivated all the plugins (apart from Toolset Blocks and Toolset Types), reset the theme to Twenty Fourteen and cleared the Cache but the problem remains. I have also purged the server-level caches.
The theme that I use is Astra.
I am happy for you to take a copy of the site for debugging. There are a lot of images (almost 100k) so you might not want to back up the whole lot. We don't sell online and there is no sensitive data held online (such as names, addresses, passwords etc).
Jamal is on Vacation. This is Minesh here and I'll take care of this ticket. Hope this is OK.
If you can share problem URL and access details and tell me what fields you want to display as side by side as your filter for your view (maybe you can share a screenshot that should help me to understand what fields you want to add side by side and how) that will help me immensely.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
Indeed. I can see the issue on your install. I can not able to see the drag-drop icon that should be available with every filter added as shown by Jamal.
In order to minimise the cause of the issue as well as to ensure there is no plugin/theme conflict:
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes? - Do you see any difference?
I turned off all plugins (except the two toolset ones) and restored the Twenty Twenty theme and the problem sadly still exists (please see screenshot).
It it possible for you to send me duplicator copy of your site so that I can deploy your site on my local machine and check if I will be able to see the same issue.
How big the duplicator file size is - is that too large?
Before sending me duplicator - would you mind to setup a test site and install just types and views/blocks plugin and check if you able to see the same issue on different server. Please try to check with any other server.
If you want I can share a test site where you can see its working.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
Thanks Minesh. That is very strange as it seems that Toolset or WP have moved the control tag to move the block. I was under the impression that the up/down arrows were to move the block up and down amongst the other blocks and didn't know that drag-n-drop was a feature of this.
Thank you for your help with this one - it has been a tricky one to sort out. Now I will be able to update my pages with searches.
