[Resolved] How to make a subscriber the author of a post

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The user would like to change the author of a post and set a subscriber user as the author.

Solution:
If you are using the classic editor for your custom post type, make sure that the author option is activated in the screen options. Check this screenshot http://prntscr.com/wzv3yg

If it is using the Blocks editor, it seems that there is a bug, in WordPress or Gutenberg that prevented it from appearing. We can reproduce this without Toolset Types.

But you can still change it in the posts list. Check this screenshot http://prntscr.com/wzvj1y

My main goal is to display posts created by a user using view and the "author is the same as the logged in user" query filter. Since all posts submitted automatically inherit the "admin" as author, I can't accomplish this.

How can I change the author of a post to a subscriber user?

P.S.
I have my post type setting "author" checkbox enabled, but the dropdown doesn't appear in the back end of the posts.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

If you are using the classic editor for your custom post type, make sure that the author option is activated in the screen options. Check this screenshot hidden link

If it is using the Blocks editor, it seems that there is a bug that prevented it from appearing. But you can still change it in the posts list. Check this screenshot hidden link

I am escalating the bug with the posts that uses the blocks editor to our 2nd Tier. And I'll keep you informed. But, as we do have a workaround using the "Quick Edit" box, I'll suggest to mark this ticket as resolved. Let me know what do you think about it.

Best regards,
Jamal

Hi Jamal,

I've tried the second option you've shown (through the "quick edit" option), but it doesn't appear on all posts. Only a handful show the author dropdown.

This is odd as these posts weren't added by the admin, and by users, and therefore should have the option to switch the author.

How can I fix this?
