This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: I would like to use an existing Content Template as the Loop Template in a View.
Solution: Click the "Remove" button if necessary to disassociate any previously associated Content Template, then place the cursor in the Loop Editor and click the Content Template button to choose an existing Content Template.

In the View editor, scroll down to the Content Template section and click the "Remove" button at the top of the editor panel to disassociate an old Content Template from the View. Then place your cursor in the Loop Editor, click the Content Template button, and you will have the opportunity to select from any existing Content Template and associate it with the current View.
