[Resolved] How to display view filter in the left sidebar separated from results on page

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a custom search View that contains several filters. I would like to display the filters in the left column of the page, and results in the right column of the page.

Solution: If you are designing this View in the Block Editor, you may find the following course lesson helpful.

There is a video with more details showing how you can move the filters and results into a two-column design, side-by-side.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I want to create a view with news concerning legal changes. Customers can filter the posts based on some filters. Filter section in view template is above the view, but I would like to have it in the left sidebar.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

Hello, the solution to this problem depends on whether you are using the Block Editor or legacy Views editor to design this View. I cannot easily tell which you are using, based on the link you provided.

If you are designing this View in the Block Editor, you may find this lesson helpful: https://toolset.com/course-lesson/creating-a-custom-search/#set-up-the-view-search-and-results-side-by-side
There is a video with more details showing how you can move the filters and results into a two-column design, side-by-side.

If you're using the legacy Views Editor to design the View, you can create the column design using custom HTML and CSS in the View's Output Editor panel, then place the filter and layout shortcodes in the appropriate HTML elements. If you cannot see the Output Editor panel, you may need to turn it on in the Screen Options tab at the top of the View editor page. If you would prefer not to write custom code, Toolset Blocks may be the most practical solution.
