I am thinking about to set up a automatic content pushing to registered users, for example, if you want rent an apartment then go to Craiglist.org or Zillow, you can set up a subscription by destination, availability, or other options, and then you can get emails or go to self account to check the search results meet you needs. the toolset view used to set up manually searches, is it possible to set up automatically custom search to achieve this? either methods below are accepted
1. users go to save a self owned custom search
2. according to users chose custom fields or taxonomies or tags to generate a search and display the properly results at they account.
all everything I supposed is not concerned with big data or data analytics. 🙂
Thank you !

Dear Jeffrey,

Q1) is it possible to set up automatically custom search to achieve this?
There isn't such a built-in feature, but I do think it will be a great feature, if you agree, we can take it as a feature request, our developers will evaluate it.

Q2) Same as above, we can take it as a feature request, our developers will evaluate it.

Thank you so much for the details Luo, It is a great news if your team can add this feature to to-do list. but normally, it should take a long while, even your team passes this feature developing I guess. 🙂 could you please teach me how to do this feature before? if it is very difficult, please just let me know, and then I will close this ticket, if not, can you take time off for teaching me?

In your case it needs these:
1) custom user fields + custom user taxonomies, so user can save their favorite topics and search within custom user fields + custom user taxonomies.
But WordPress only supports custom user fields, does not support custom user taxonomies.

2) When user choose options in a custom search form, click the submit button, it need to save the options into user fields, and there isn't such a features within Views plugin.
