[Resolved] How do I create a view to add it to and existing html page template?

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to create a View independently of a post or page, like I could in legacy views before Toolset Blocks.

Solution: Activate the legacy editing experience in Toolset > Settings > General.

I am developing a site locally and I have just installed Toolset to create dynamic content on the site. I have used the old version of Toolset and on that version I can create views from the dashboard and then insert the code into my page html template. On this new version the "Create View" option isn't available on the dashboard.

How can I achieve this? I don't want to use Toolset to build the whole site, just the dynamic content and then insert that content into my existing code.

Many thanks,
Charlie

I just found the legacy Views plugin which lets me do this, but I'm still interrested to find out if there is a way to do this with the new Blocks plugin?

Hello, in Toolset Blocks the normal workflow is to create a View directly inside a Content Template or some post content. If you want to create a View outside of a template or post content, you can enable the legacy Views editor within the Blocks plugin. Go to Toolset > Settings > General and you will find the "Editing experience" configuration, where you can enable the legacy Views editor. This will activate the Views menu item in the main Toolset menu, and you can design your View there.
