The client will want to Log-In to a front-end form and add content to populate the following Profile Page for a new painting, ecollage, and/or collage
Yes, this is the CRED form I mentioned. A CRED form is used to create or edit some post (a painting, ecollage, or collage post) from the front-end of the site. The Homepage holds a View that displays one of those posts, as selected by your client using a checkbox in the CRED form. If the box is checked, the post is considered a Featured post and will be displayed on the homepage. If the box is not checked, the post is not considered a featured post and will not be displayed on the homepage.

1. The client can select to post a new Featured Profile at the point when a new item is first added
Yes, this is what I meant by a checkbox in the CRED form that selects a featured post. When the client creates a post, he or she can check the featured checkbox to specify the post as a featured post for the homepage.

When the Form is submitted, if it had been indicated as new Featured Image, hopefully, the existing featured image would be over-written.
An automated process like this will probably require custom code. In the process I was thinking of, your client would edit the old Featured post in a front-end form and uncheck the featured checkbox for that post. If you want to automate this process, you can use the cred_save_data API. We have some examples here:

This ticket is important to the overall project development. Would it be possible to keep it open a while longer, or does that present an issue?

Sure, that's fine. I will mark this ticket as pending an update from you. No need to reply right now. The ticket will remain open for 30 days.
