[Resolved] 'Hierarchical' taxonomy has radio buttons instead of checkboxes

I am trying to: use a 'Hierarchical' taxonomy

I visited this URL:

I expected to see: Checkboxes in the admin screen

Instead, I got: Radio buttons in the admin screen

I’ve created a taxonomy of 'manufacturer' which is assigned to a post type of 'location'. The taxonomy type is selected as 'Hierarchical - like post categories, with parent / children relationship and checkboxes to select taxonomy'.

When I create or edit a 'Location' I'm seeing radio buttons rather than checkboxes, so I can’t make multiple selections.

I’ve tried selecting 'Flat', saving, then reselecting 'Hierarchical' and saving but that didn’t help.

Hi Harvey,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

I believe you are referencing to the taxonomy selection on the post edit screen. As customary this should be a checkbox as you are able to select multiple taxonomies.

Could you provide me with a screenshot highlighting the issue ?

Also I would recommend temporarily disabling all your Non-toolset plugins to ensure that this issue is not being caused by another plugin.

Please let me know once you have done this.

So sorry, I’ve discovered the problem myself, totally my fault - sorry to have wasted your time.

At some time during development I'd installed https://wordpress.org/plugins/radio-buttons-for-taxonomies/ and 'Manufacturers' had been set to use Radio Buttons.
