Tell us what you are trying to do? I have just added a custom user field and assigned it to 2 roles Optician and Administrator.. I expected to see the fields in Users that have the role of Administrator or Optician.. but it's not visible.. In the past sometime I've had to clear cache etc before regular custom fields were visible.. but this time I've done everything and waited for a few hours but nothing.. could you please advise what I could be doing wrong?

Do you mean to say that when you edit the profile of a user with an Optician role that the user field you added to the group assigned to that role is not appearing? That's where you expect to see it and cannot?
I just tested this locally and it works with the current production versions of our plugins.
Presumably you have Access active. If you go to Toolset > Access Control > Types Fields under the section for User Meta Fields access, you haven't changed the settings for viewing own fields in profile?
Then it suggests some conflict may be preventing the fields from appearing.
You would need to disable all non-Toolset plugins, including caching plugins, as well as switching theme to twentytwenty to re-test. If you can then see the user field on an Optician backend profile then it should be possible to determine the source of any conflict by a process of elimination. Ideally you would be doing this on a staging site.
But I think there's some lag or delay here.. as it's not the first time I am facing this.. The fields take some time to show up.. not sure what the issue is but it's happened before too..
