I'm trying to create a view. I'm new to Toolset and trying to follow a tutorial and learn the basics. When I try to create a view, I see this message: "There were no posts found to display for this View's query."

Hi there

A View queries the database for some posts according to the criteria you specify, and then displays them.

So the message literally just means it didn't find any posts matching your criteria.

When you add a View you specify the content it should retrieve, e.g. a post type "Courses".

Maybe you registered a post type Courses, but didn't create any Course posts yet, so there are none for the View to display.

Or maybe you added a filter to your View so that it should only show "Advanced" courses, and there are no advanced courses published yet.

When it comes to designing the output of the View it needs a sample post to work with, and the message you see is shown because there is no sample post available that matches the criteria you set for the content to show.

Thanks for your response. I found that the reason my view wasn't finding the posts I made is because I kept my posts as drafts. Once I published the posts, they appeared in the view.
