Hello Toolset Team,
I hope you are doing well.
I am currently using Toolset and have been very satisfied with its capabilities. However, I have a specific need for a flexible content solution similar to ACF Pro’s flexible content field. I am looking for a way to allow clients to add, reorder, and manage various custom content blocks on a page, with the front-end rendering exactly as defined in the admin.
Could you please let me know if you have plans to integrate a native flexible content solution in the future? If not, do you offer or plan to offer a reliable alternative that would provide similar functionality?
Any insights into your roadmap or recommended workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards,
Hi,
Welcome to Toolset support. There is no such option available in Toolset and from what I know there is no plan to implement such a thing.
The available field types that can be used are listed here:
https://toolset.com/documentation/customizing-sites-using-php/functions/
If you are interested I can add this as a feature request to our internal issue tracker.
Feature requests will be checked by our development team periodically and if there is a feasibility and enough interest they might be considered for implementation.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello Christopher,
Thank you for your prompt response and for offering to add my request to your internal issue tracker. As mentioned, having a native flexible content solution—similar to ACF Pro’s flexible content field—is essential for developers creating custom websites for clients. This functionality would allow clients to easily add, reorder, and manage various content blocks while ensuring that the admin interface aligns perfectly with the front-end output.
Could you also please confirm that there is no alternative solution compatible with Toolset that meets this need? Without a viable workaround, I would be forced to switch to ACF Pro, although I would much prefer to continue using Toolset.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued support.
Best regards,
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. No, unfortunately, there is nothing that I can suggest that will mimic the same functionality as flexible content.
Thanks.
