The essential issue here is that the customer failed in their attempt to create a parametric search for their archive page.

Solution:

I want to add option to filter post category by a custom field.
I added custom field to post type.
This is select with two options: Poland / World.

Next I made a view in which I selected second option from bottom on the first window.
I use polish language so I don't know what is the original text:
"Wyświetl wyniki, stosując wyszukiwanie niestandardowe"
I guess: View results using a custom search

I choose:
AJAX results are updated when visitors change the value of any filter

Next I made filter choosing my custom field.

And on the end I put this view in view archive.

Effect is: select is visible, but doesn't work.
Here you could see the select "Lokalizacja" above the posts:
hidden link

I think I missed somethink important,
I will be grateful for every hint.

Hi Tomas,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the website so that I can have a look at this for you and let you know which step was missing.

The private fields have been enabled for your next response.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Tomas,

Thank you I was able to see the issue.

It seems that the search was not setup correctly.

For you archives you will need to enable the search setting for this Layout by following the instructions here.
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/allowing-visitors-to-sort-the-front-end-results/

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Thanks Shane!
Great help, as usual 🙂

1. I enable Custom Search Settings and Filter Editor sections for an existing View Archive.
2. Next I added filter to View Archive directly (without making filter in Views, as I previously wanted).

and the filtering does a good job now 😉
thanks again!
