Hi,
I'm trying to filter a CPT from its custom fields located in repeatable groups (and nested ones).

I got something like this, as an example :

Product CPT
     > Variation 1 Name
     > Variation 1 Option
          > Option 1 Name
          > Option 1 Desc
          > Option 2 Name
          > Option 2 Desc
     > Variation 2 Name
     > Variation 2 Option
          > Option 1 Name
          > Option 1 Desc

When i try to filter via "Filter by post relationship / repeatable field groups owner" it displays this error :

The ancestors argument does not end with a valid post that is related for the returned post types on this View.

Can you please confirm that i can indeed filter parent CPT by its "fake childs"/repeatable groups custom fields ?

Thanks,
Fabien

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - could you please share problem URL and access details so I can check how you setup your repeating fields group as well as added to your view.

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. If you agree to this, please use the form fields I have enabled below to provide temporary access details (wp-admin and FTP).

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

could you please share working URLs.

Ok - I checked and I confirm that this is not an issue as filtering posts by field of repeating field group is not supported yet.

We have many clients demanding this feature and this feature is at top of our priority list which suppose to include with our next Dev cycle and should be made available withing two or three months from now. Please note that time frame I shared with you is just approximate time, as its totally depends upon our devs and available resources. However - as far as I can see, it should not exceed 3-4 months from now.

I've added this ticket to our internal system so when this feature is implemented and published I will get in touch with you. For now, feel free to close the ticket.

This ticket is now closed. If you're a WPML client and need related help, please open a new support ticket.
