I am trying to: Understand why at some times some of our fields, views and/or templates will delete themselves and appear in the trash can.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: It appears in the admin portal and its currently not happening.

I expected to see: My fields, views and templates not in trash

Instead, I got: They randomly get added to the trash, no reason as to why and we are sure none of the team members are deleting them.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - this is a really strange thing happening with you. No user yet reported such issues or even I do not see such issues when I checked on my local test install.

1)
Can you please try to find out the actual cause of this issue? When exactly on which action such entities are deleted?

2)
Can you please try to run a compatibility test:
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?

3)
Could you please send me to debug information that will help us to investigate your issue.

Its surely happening and only 1 time did I witness it happening as I was working. I was modifying the IDs in the wp-view shortcode and forgot a closing quote. Things slowed down a bit and became unstable, but I was able to deactivate Toolset Views and fix the issue. Well when I did fix the issue, the page didn't render and I couldn't figure out the issue. Eventually I saw that the entire view was sent to the trash.

Thats a severe case and I dont know if its all centered around typos in the view or field deleting itself to preserve the integrity of the system but the last times this happened NO one reported anything, the view and the field group was just in the trash.

The only thing I can provide is above, I dont know why or when its happening, it just does. Its currently not a problem however we want to know why his could possibly be happening.

Well - can you please share exact steps to reproduce the issue as until I'm not able to reproduce the issue I cant help with the issue.

I cant reproduce it, the code decides when it wants to delete it. Would the developers be able to help? They should know if they have any sendToTrash methods. Its very specific. If there are no sendToTrash methods in your code then perhaps we'll never know why it happens. Thanks

I would suggest you installing some activity tracker plugin. For example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/aryo-activity-log/

Even though we should have code to trash the view or content template the code should not run until the activity or action performed.

Actually we have that plugin and it didn't report the "trash" actions. Not sure what else to do as its been happening for a long time but as the developer behind the scenes I didn't know and I reported it an the team told me its a reoccurring issue. Im at a loss but I'll be more observant from now on.

Sure. Please keep eye on this issue and once you locate the issue please feel free to share steps to reproduce the issue and I will be happy to take over from that moment and once I able to reproduce I will escalate it to Developers.
