We have an established blog that is using Toolset to display the WordPress archive with a content template.
We are using the standard views shortcode for displaying a featured image.

But the featured images have all stopped working over the weekend. When we inspect urls we can see that wpv_ has been injected into all the urls of the featured images.

For example:
hidden link

But this is actually where the image is:
hidden link

How do we remove wpv_ from all the urls on the featured images?

Hi Guy,

Tried logging in to get a more detailed look at this for you but the password doesn't seem to work.

Were there any updates performed?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Sorry that was the client deleting the account we created for you.
We've notified the client about your account on his site now and the username and password are the same.

Thanks!

Hi Guy,

I noticed the issue on my test installation as well.

Could you try using this plugin to regenerate the thumbnails ?

Please let me know the results.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I installed this plugin and ran it on all the thumbnails. But no change.

I don't understand how the wpv_ is being injected into the url - this is what is causing the problem because the images are there when wpv_ is removed from the url.

Why would the display post thumbnail shortcode add wpv_ to the url path of the image?

Hi Guy,

I've reported this to our 2nd tier supporters for further checks.

Would it be possible to grab a duplicator package from your website ?

Thanks,
Shane

#1259253

Yes of course. Please go ahead and install the duplicator plugin.

Hi Guy,

Is it possible to do a few test for me.

If you try to re-upload the images to the posts, does the issue still remain?

Is it this page alone that is affected or do you have other pages that are affected by the issue ?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane

I've tried re-adding an image to a post and also deleting an image form the media library, then re-uploading it, but the problem still persists.

The problem only seems to occur in the blog section and only on the blog archive page (hidden link) - the images are still rendering on the individual post pages (e.g. hidden link). What could be causing this?

Thanks.

Hi Guy,

This is definitely a server issue as I setup the duplicator locally and it worked fine without any modifications. See Screenshot

It is also rendered with the same wpv_ in the url.

However what you can do is to manually style this with css by just setting the height of the image to 200px.

Removing the resize attributes from the shortcode and styling it with css.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane

The blog featured images seem to have sorted themselves out, but we're now seeing the same issue for the workshop featured images: hidden link

Could you take another look please? Why is this happening for some featured images and not others?

Thanks.

Hi Guy,

Not sure why this is happening but I would suggest removing the custom size from your images as this seems to be why it is happening.
size="custom" width="735" height="525" crop="true"

Thanks,
Shane
