excerpt field length control does not work

This support ticket is created 4 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

I am trying to: display a content excerpt

When using the single field block or any block that allows for dynamic data, when trying to display an excerpt field, there is a setting for the length (in characters or words) to limit how much is displayed. It defaults to 0 and can not be changed.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I run a test with my test site and try to add a single field block and then try to display the post excerpt field and then try to change the length for character or works but it just works as expected at this end.

Please check the following video:

- Do you see any Javascript error on your browser console?
- Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes? - Do you see any difference?
