Tell us what you are trying to do?
I'm using The Events Calendar, for our site Events. The event 'date' is part of one field, in the plugin. Can I pull the event date from this field, to my view? I'm not sure how to use The Events Calendar Post Type, and Toolset, together?

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi Debbie,

Thank you for getting in touch.

It would appear that the event calendar plugin has shortcodes that you can use to display the information.
Have a look at the link below.
hidden link

You should be able to use this to display the events on the page's template.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi, Shane. Thanks for the info. IF I purchased The Events Calendar PRO, to make this option available, how would I add the date field, in a Toolset block?

Thanks.

Hi Debbie,

There is a day view shortcode [tribe_events view="day"]

You can use the shortcode to add the information to your template, however for specific information about what is displayed you will need to get in touch with the events calendar team.

Thanks,
Shane

thanks, Shane. I'm still not sure how to incorporate the shortcode to the Toolset view?

Hi Brian,

All you need to do is use the shortcode block and add the shortcode inside that block.

Are you working on a page's content template ? Or are you listing out the items one at a time using a view?

If its listing out with the view then this may not work and we will need to get the information directly from the database using some custom code.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi, Shane.

I'm using the items in a View.

Hi Debbie,

It will be best to open a new ticket for this.

Secondly can you provide me with admin access to the website as well as the page that contains the view as we will need to write some custom shortcodes to get this working for you.

I've enabled the private fields for your next response.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi, Shane.

Before we get to that level, I'm re-thinking this whole page and its functionality.

The team wants the Search/Filter fields at the top of the page. Below that, on the left side, is a calendar. And, on the right side of the calendar, a short list (3-5) of upcoming events. IF this configuration is possible, I would need the Search results to populate on a new page? Or, would I place a View Loop below the 2 columns (the calendar and the upcoming events list), and have the results show there?

Can the Search and View Loop be separated like that?

Thanks.

Brian

Hi Debbie,

Essentially the new query is if the View Search can be separated from the Results.

Are you using the classic view builder or is it the Gutenburg Block Builder to create your search view ? Please let me know as the methods are a bit different.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi, Shane.

I am using the Gutenburg editor. I can install the Classic Editor plugin, if preferred.

Thanks.

Hi Debbie,

No worries the gutenburg editor view can still work.

Here below we have documentation on how to have the search results on a different page.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi, Shane.

We've decided to keep the search results on the same page, but display them in the right column, of a 2-column row.

I can share my site with you, in a private message. I have the elements in place, for the most part, I just need to widen the view to full width.

Thanks.
