Tell us what you are trying to do?

In a recent support chat with Shane, I asked which event plugins Toolset users most often use with Toolset. He mentioned MEC and "Event Calendar". He said:

Shane : "Actually the only 2 popular ones are Modern Events Calendar and Events Calendar, these are the ones I see customers using"

I took this to mean Modern Tribe's 'The Event Calendar' - however, from trying it and reading other posts here it seems that MT's Event Calendar fields are not public. Now I am trying to find out which plugin he meant if not Modern Tribe's.

I am looking for an event calendar plugin with public fields that I can use with Toolset. I want to know what other TS users have had success with. Though it would be my preference, I can't, with Toolset alone, achieve the functionality I need, either because its not possible or I dont know how. MEC seems to have public fields but is problematic for other reasons.

I don't know of existing-working integrations with any calendar system and Toolset, but I know that Toolset users often user Tribe's calendar app, yes, however, there are (as I recall from support threads) issues with Toolset (I believe they were mainly related to templating though).

I guess Tribe's calendar is amongst the few used because it just is amongst the few WP Plugins doing a calendar in a usable way.

Apart from templating issues (you cannot alter their hardcoded templates), I know of no (known) issues.
Custom Fields, if native WP Custom Fields, by my knowledge cannot be "private".
In fact I believe they are just "simple" meta fields - as seen in this thread:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/using-the-events-calendar/
That thread uses hidden link as a base, I think it's a very good starting point to understand what will be needed to display such data with Toolset.

Please let me know if you'd need more help on this.

PS; you should definitely add your voice here https://toolset.com/2019/06/do-you-need-calendar-view-for-toolset/ and https://toolset.com/home/contact-us/suggest-a-new-feature-for-toolset/ as well.
