Tell us what you are trying to do?
I'm updating plugins in WPEngine.

I'm getting an error in my WPEngine portal notifying me that "Toolset plugin cannot connect to toolset.com" with this recommendation "Toolset needs to connect to its server to check for new releases and security updates. Something in the network or security settings is preventing this. Please allow outgoing communication to toolset.com to remove this notice."

Is there any documentation that you are following? no

Is there a similar example that we can see? see link below

What is the link to your site? hidden link

Hi again,
When can I expect a reply? My site is compromised and I'm not able to update due to this issue.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to Toolset support. Please contact your hosting service provider and ask them to whitelist the domains below:

api.toolset.com
cloudfront.net

After that, you will be able to follow the steps below to update Toolset:

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add new > Commercial (tab)".
- Click the "Check for Updates" button.
- Update Toolset and its addons there.

Thanks.

The sites have been whitelisted. Now I'm getting this error from Toolset:

Your subscription appears to no longer be valid. Please try to register again using a valid site key.

My subscription is paid thru September 2026.

If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

Thanks.
