We are trying to allow specific users who are associated with a custom post type post to be able to edit their own posts in a front end form.

How can we enable this edit cred form shortcode to work anywhere in the website code?

[cred_form form=‘edit-provider-profile’ post=‘1272’]” ?

I would like to enable users to modify their info through placing this shortcode anywhere?

Npte; post=‘1272’ is dynamic custom post type.”

When added to the form in elementor we get this error.

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for contacting us and I'll be happy to assist.

I've tested the shortcode for a post edit form on my website, from inside an Elementor page builder and it worked as expected, without the error/warning.

Since the issue seems to be specific to your website, I'll recommend the following steps:

1. Please make sure WordPress and all plugins are updated to their latest versions.

2. You can also test this form shortcode, with all extra plugins (other than Elementor and Toolset) disabled and with a default theme like Twenty Nineteen. This will help in narrowing down to the conflict.

3. In case the issue still persists, you're welcome to share the copy of your website, for further troubleshooting.

Here is a guide on how to share the copy/clone of the website:

Hi Stuart,

I've checked how the profile provider page and the edit form are set up, but no changes have been made on your website.

The screenshot that I shared in my last message was from my test website and not yours.
( screenshot: hidden link )

On my website I have tested with the shortcode:

[cred_form form='form-to-edit-book' post='132']

And on your website, the shortcode used is:

[cred_form form='edit-provider-profile' post='1272']

These shortcodes are the same, except for the name of the edit form and the ID of the post to be edited are different on both websites.

Since this works on my test website but shows error on yours, this needs further troubleshooting, which can't be performed on a live website. This is the reason, I requested for your website's copy so that I can deploy it on my own server and troubleshoot in depth.

Your next reply will be private as well so that you can share your website's duplicator package.
