[Resolved] Embedded video from Dailymotion does not display
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
I am using Embedded Media field, added that into a View. When I use a dailymotion.com video link in this field, it does not show Video in Chrome browser.
I'm trying to display videos from Dailymotion on my site.
So, I have created an embedded video field. If I place the Youtube shared link, everything is working fine but if I'm using Dailymotion shared link, then, only the link is displayed and not the video.
Thank you for contacting Toolset support. I am not able to reproduce this issue at my end. Daily motion video is properly displaying by using Embedded Media field. Here is an example shortcode:
4. Please also try to check it by deactivating all third-party plugins (except Toolset) and switching back to the Default Theme (e.g. Twenty Sixteen theme) to see for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?
Here is thecode I'm using for the Views that display the videos :
<h3 style="height:2em;">[wpv-post-title]</h3></br>
[types field="vi-date-video" id=""][/types]
[types field='vi-lien-video' width='400' height='300'][/types]
[types field="vi-description-video" id=""][/types]
Here is the url of the Dailymotion that does not work (only display the link) : hidden link
I have also tested with : hidden link and with hidden link
None of them works.
RegardsNow, with Youtube url : hidden link everything is fine !
II have also tried todesactivate other plugins than Toolset and the issue is still there !
The theme I'm using is Toolset starter up to date.
Last, you can find the issue on this page : hidden link
- Please make sure you are using Embedded Media field type -- see attached screenshot.
- Please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your staging site.
Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.
=== Please backup your database and website ===
✙ I would additionally need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important.
✙ Please add the Link to the [View] Edit Screen and CPT name where you have created this Embedded media field.
- Please clear all sort of caches in your site plugin cache / CDN cache (if any) / browser cache, and check the site again.
- I need to know more details on your Browser and OS. Can you please go to this site and share the details link with us (share link is displayed at the top section on this site): hidden link
The share link you have provided is not the correct one. Please see attached screenshot, that's the actual sharing url that we need from your end. Looking forward to it.
Thanks for the link. I have matched the settings, it looks correct and I have tested on a Windows 10 pc with same Chrome version as you have, and it appears to be working fine as well -- please see attached screenshots for Windows 10, Chrome.
Also I asked a team member to check it on MAC = Chrome and Safari both and videos show up fine there as well.
So I am really wondering if its on in your system or some browser addon or something blocking it somehow. Can you please check it on another computer, a colleague or friend possibly?
We leverage WordPress api for handling embedded videos so I don’t see any reason why it won’t work, other than the things mentioned above. Thanks
I have the same issue on another PC but only on Chrome.
In fact, looking at the Chrome console, I'm getting this type of errors :Error: Failed to read the 'localStorage' property from 'Window': Access is denied for this document.
