[Resolved] Elementor template & Toolset integration

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to know how to create a custom template for their custom post type using Elementor Pro.

Solution:

The Elementor documentation has a tutorial on how to do this. You can find it at the link below.

Hi,

I'm new with Toolset Types. I use Elementor pro. All WP and plugins are up to date. PHP is 7.4.

I've successfully import my 968 products in two languages from Drupal CMS to WP with related products. Fine. i18n is done with WPML.

It's time now to integrate this. My Toolset type is 'products'

I want to use Elementor template, not views.

Following tutorial https://toolset.com/2018/07/toolset-elementor-integration, at "2. Dynamic content: Types is integrated with Elementor templates." I experiment a constant problem (I've found others examples on the net with the same issue).

In all theses tutorials, it is asked to create a new template > single > products (in my case).

But with my up to date Elementor pro, I can only choose new templace > single page or single product... and behind, option to choose the type 'products'...

The tutorials are all dated 2018... May be Elementor has changed its behaviour since.. Is there an update tutorial ? Or maybe I'm wrong...

Hi Stef,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Our documentation wouldn't cover the details of how to create a template using elementor. I would suggest going directly to the elementor documentation to get a better understanding of how to create templates with the plugin.

This should guide you on how to create a general template for your post type.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

You state that "Our documentation wouldn't cover the details of how to create a template using elementor" but this is wrong : your documentation cover every details how to create an elementor template relative to Custom Types...

But the way described is simply out of date. We can't now proceed this way now.

Digging around this issue, I've found how to circumvent it : just create a "unique post" template type and, after creating it, add a condition with the custom type created by toolset type... This is why your video must be updated.

I consider this issue closed.

Hi Stephane,

No worries, however I posted the link for the elementor documentation on how to create the template for the custom post type.

I agree that our documentation on this is perhaps out of date, however the elementor team will maintain the most up to date documentation on the issue. So i would best advise looking at their documentation for how to create a template for custom post types using Elementor.

Thanks,
Shane
