Tell us what you are trying to do?

I need some clarification regarding e-mail notifications triggered when a custom field is set to certain value in the backend, not in the frontend form.

I checked several support posts but found different answers: one, that changes done in the backend don´t trigger notifications; the other, that notifications are sent no matter where the change on the custom field is done, backend or frontend.

https://toolset.com/forums/topic/send-mail-when-custom-fields-are-modified/

https://toolset.com/forums/topic/how-to-send-an-automatic-email-when-a-custom-field-is-updated-via-dashboard/

I´ve set the notification options but e-mails are not received. I´ve used both values, text and content of the custom field, just in case, with no success.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

From the screenshot, I understand that you're using a notification from a form that adds a new post.

I've performed some tests on my website and can confirm that the form notification will be triggered, only if the value of the custom field matches the selected value, at the time of the submission of the front-end form. It won't trigger if the created post is later edited using the post edit screen in the admin area.

If you need to trigger a form notification, when a post's custom fields value is changed to the desired value, please make sure to use a front-end edit form that has a notification added to it.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any further assistance around this.

regards,
Waqar

Thank you for your prompt response, Waqar.

It´s a pity that it only works from the front-end.

I´ll do some research about using some plugin or custom coding for this.

Best regards,
